Keep an Eye on Cold Storage

Glendale Memorial Hospital
At Glendale Memorial Hospital, patient care and safety is our number one priority. Since commissioning our temperature monitoring solution in March 2007, we have been able to proactively and accurately monitor the temperature of over 100 drug and food storage units across our hospital in order to keep our patients well protected from drug and food temperature-related risks.
The SensoTech wireless solution has allowed us to display and print detailed temperature information reports for our internal and regulatory audits, especially JCAHO. We no longer have to log the temperature information manually, which has improved our operational efficiency and saved a lot of our nurses’ valuable time.
My Engineering team has also been able to more proactively monitor the cooling storage units with email and pager alerts. Additionally, my staff can conduct a detailed assessment of refrigerator or freezer alerts to determine any potential issues with the cooling units themselves, or perhaps the cooling unit door is simply being left open too long.
SensoTech’s option of a trial system before use helped us work out any operational issues prior to our agreement to setup your product in the laboratories, pharmacy, nurses units, surgery room, cafeteria and other areas. I must add the feedback from the managers of these departments has been very positive.
This has been a great and affordable investment for us compared to other products that we evaluated. The lack of any software installation and minimal need for IS support has been an added benefit for my group. We are looking forward to our long-term partnership.
